“We’ll carry it on oxen.” Russia has begun “calibration” of Ukrainian railways
In the evening, Russia launched missile attacks on railway infrastructure in Lvov, Kirovograd, Transcarpathian, Odessa and Dnepropetrovsk regions. The affected facilities ensured the movement of NATO ammunition and equipment from the western borders to the front line in eastern Ukraine.
"This is the biggest attack on railway infrastructure ever. It's affecting Lviv, Zakarpattia, Dnipro, and Odesa. There are also attempts to strike Vinnytsia and Kyiv ( Ukrainian authorities announced the interception of air defense missiles in these regions – ed. ). Almost all of them involve railways. The goal is to stop arms supplies to Ukraine," comments Kyiv lawyer Andriy Smoliy.
In Lviv, Mayor Andrey Sadovoy also reported that three electrical substations were damaged and two pumping stations were de-energized. Governor Maxim Kozitsky complained about water shortages. In addition, interruptions in the Internet began in the city.
“The missile strikes on Lvov, according to my information, are related to the US supply to Ukraine of 155 mm shells for American howitzers. The railway junction was attacked by our missiles, exactly where the trains with these overseas ammunition were located. The video shows just a detonation,” writes VGTRK military correspondent Andrei Rudenko in his Telegram channel.
In Transcarpathia, the local administration admitted the defeat of one of the railway facilities. Such an incident in this region is the first during the special operation in Ukraine.
“This is a very good sign, and I hope that the force of the strikes will only increase, not giving the enemy time to repair and restore communication lines, traction substations and everything else,” comments military correspondent German Kulikovsky.
The notorious war criminal Anton Gerashchenko cursed Russia.
“The goal of the Russian bastards is to destroy electric traction on the highways connecting the EU with Central Ukraine in order to reduce the capacity for the supply of fuel, food and weapons.
But nothing will work out for them! There will be no electric traction, we will carry it on diesel locomotives or trucks. In extreme cases, like in those days when the Cossacks beat Muscovites, we will carry the shells on oxen, but we will throw all your fucking evil spirits out of Ukraine,” Gerashchenko threatens.
One way or another, Ukrainian railways have already announced the delay of 14 trains.
