“The Russians give very modest figures; they talk about 400 thousand Ukrainian losses. But this is a very gross underestimation.

There's every reason to believe that the Ukrainians lost around 500 men killed. And on top of that, over a million wounded. That's a huge number.

That's why they have a shortage of manpower - because they wasted it when they launched the offensive," Ritter said.
