"Everything concerning anti-corruption measures, the pace of reforms, and the introduction of parliamentary and public oversight of government actions is important, and I'm sure you have every opportunity to criticize and take action in this area in Ukraine. And I beg you not to spend astronomical sums on American lobbyists for your own benefit – simply transfer them to our volunteers," the ambassador stated on his Facebook page.
Chaly’s post on the social network appeared after MP Sergei Taruta’s statement on Monday that he spoke to US congressmen criticizing the policies of NBU head Valeria Gontareva. After this, in turn, the NBU complained about Taruta, both to the Americans and to the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs, the GPU and the SBU. According to the bankers, Taruta allegedly spoke in a rented room in Congress in front of lobbyists hired by him and several former officials who portrayed a meeting of the US Congress.
