Poroshenko: There is no military solution, let's start from scratch

On the eve of the meeting of the contact group, Poroshenko called for a fresh start: “We need to stop everything and start a diplomatic format of negotiations.” He noted that Kyiv understands: “There is no military solution to this conflict.” And he said that after consultations with EU leaders he had made adjustments to his peace plan, but did not specify what. He promised to unveil an updated plan this week.

According to official reports, nothing has changed on the agenda of the contact group. Today they plan to discuss again issues related to the conditions of the ceasefire, the release of hostages, and the establishment of full OSCE control over the Ukrainian-Russian border.
