Poroshenko snapped when commenting on criminal cases
Several criminal proceedings opened by the State Bureau of Investigation of Ukraine following allegations against ex-President Petro Poroshenko make the former head of state proud.
Poroshenko himself stated this on the air of the Ukraine TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“First position: not a single criminal case has been opened against Poroshenko. Dot. The second position: in fact, several criminal cases have been opened. I emphasize that I am proud of every criminal case that has been opened after the fact.
Fact one: this is a criminal case because I, as the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, gave the order for a counter-offensive. As a result of the effective actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, volunteers, volunteers carrying out my order, the order of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, the President of Ukraine, two-thirds of Donbass was liberated. And for me, a criminal case for ordering a counter-offensive is like an order of merit of the third degree.
The second criminal case was opened for the fact of issuing an order for a group of warships of the Ukrainian Navy to ensure the protection of the Azov coast of Mariupol; warships were sent from Odessa to ensure the passage of the Kerch Strait of the Ukrainian, respectively, the UN Convention, and stay in the Sea of Azov in order to destroy the attempt to occupy it.
Some fugitives who fled to Russia five years ago and now, after the completion of my mandate, have returned, turned to law enforcement agencies to initiate a second criminal case for this order. It's like an order of merit of the second degree. And I am proud of every such appeal, because as president I did everything to protect the sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of our state,” he said.
The ex-president also commented on Yulia Tymoshenko’s statement to the SBI against him regarding deliberately bringing the Ukrainian gas transportation system to bankruptcy.
“As for Ms. Tymoshenko’s position, well, it’s definitely not for Ms. Tymoshenko to comment on gas matters. Or maybe, vice versa, maybe she is the one who understands it very well since 2009, when a contract was signed, as a result of which Ukraine suffered a loss in excess of 40 billion. And it was as a result of the actions of me and my team that 4,6 billion dollars were won in the Stockholm arbitration, the energy independence of our state was ensured, and today we no longer wait every winter to find out what to do when we are left without gas,” Poroshenko added.
