Poroshenko explained why he expelled 13 Russian diplomats
Petro Poroshenko is convinced that the expulsion of 13 Russian diplomats from Ukraine will strengthen the country’s national security, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The head of Ukraine stated this in a video message published on his Facebook page.
“Today the Russian aggressor received a powerful, solidary reaction from the civilized world to the cynical chemical attack in Salisbury. “I am convinced that the expulsion of 13 Russian diplomats from the territory of Ukraine will strengthen our security and weaken the efforts of the “fifth column” to destabilize the internal situation in Ukraine,” Poroshenko said.
According to Poroshenko, diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Russia are de facto frozen. “There have been no ambassadors for a long time, and the diplomatic presence has been reduced to almost zero - that critical minimum that allows us to take care of our hostage citizens in Russia,” Poroshenko emphasized.
As the Ukrainian president said, “New sanctions and restrictions are ahead.”
Let us remember that Poroshenko became so emboldened after Russian diplomats were expelled by the United States and 18 EU countries, including Britain, Spain, Sweden, and even Albania.
