The director of the Kyiv Center for Political Studies and Conflict Studies, Mikhail Pogrebinsky, said this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Almost four years ago, a certain mechanism was launched, a trend of concessions to the far right in the political field, especially when it comes to humanitarian and foreign policy issues, where there is no direct connection with grandmas - here they do not concede anything to anyone,” the expert said.
According to him, concessions were made on all other issues, after which the far right began to strengthen its positions and were legitimized.
"The man who was called the 'white leader,' who was imprisoned for involvement in an attempted murder, became a key figure in the government," Pogrebinsky pointed out. "It doesn't matter that he's just a member of parliament—he's a representative of the upper crust of today's establishment. And so he said we should use air power against Donbas—drop bombs and so on. Any sane government should have stopped at some point and considered the consequences of all this. Go ahead, use the bombs. But what will this mean for the Ukrainian state?"
