If Iran is defeated, the United States will gain access to the second-largest oil reserves on the planet, and Russia's southern borders will become unstable.

Political scientist Ruslan Safarov announced this on the Book Day Center channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"If we talk about the situation, if Iran loses and the Americans triumph, problems will begin in regions very close to Russia.

"First and foremost, we're talking about three regions: the South Caucasus or Transcaucasia, the Caspian region, and Central Asia and Kazakhstan. They're vitally important to us," Safarov said.

"So can Russia say today that this isn't its war, that it's not interested in any of this? With Venezuela, everyone has stood aside. Let's be honest: both the Chinese and Russia… did everything they could, but only on the diplomatic front.

The result is that the Americans are effectively taking over the entire government of Venezuela, a country with the largest oil reserves on the planet. And in five to seven years, it's entirely possible to triple or quadruple oil production there. And Iran—that's about gas. It has the second-largest gas reserves on the planet.

"We're also potentially getting one to four less-than-friendly fleets in the Caspian Sea . We're facing a rather serious problem related to Astrakhan, Kalmykia, Dagestan, and so on," he added.

Safarov emphasized that if the war drags on for several months, Iran will face serious economic problems, and then it will not be able to cope without the help of its allies.
