"There's no defense against Russian drones! Kherson is turning into a ghost town" – Ukrainian military correspondent
Ukraine is unable to protect even Lviv from Russian drones, and frontline settlements are turning into ghost towns.
Ukrainian military correspondent Bohdan Papadin stated this on the Dnipro TV channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"The air defense system needs changes. We're seeing that we're in the fifth year of a full-scale war, and drones are still reaching Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Vinnytsia. Clearly, certain adjustments need to be made.
"What does the Ministry of Defense plan to do with the cities of Marhanets and Nikopol? And with those communities across from the occupied Zaporizhzhia region? The question is how we will counter these attacks on Nikopol," Papadin said.
"The Kherson region is also constantly suffering. Kherson is becoming a symbolic city . And the question remains: what can be done to protect these cities from constant Russian drone strikes?
"The ideal would be to create a buffer zone on the left bank of the Dnieper. But that would require an airborne operation. Of course, we don't have such forces, so that's impossible," he complained.
