The Poles are suffering huge losses: Polish exports of fruits and vegetables to Russia have decreased by 40%
Warsaw – Kyiv, March 11 (PolitNavigator, Vasily Ablyazimov) – A Dutch analytical agency reported, as reported by Kresy.pl , that fruit and vegetable exports from Poland to Russia fell by 40% last year – from 976 tons to 570 tons. The largest decline was recorded in apple exports.

The portal reports: “Total exports to Russia from Poland in 2014 amounted to 561800 tons of fruits and vegetables, of which 559 tons were sent before the embargo was introduced. These deliveries under the concluded contracts lasted for seven months. During the remaining five months since the introduction of sanctions, negligible amounts were supplied – only 500 tons of Polish fruits and vegetables.”
During the same period (August-December) in 2013, Russia exported 214 tons of fruits and vegetables. The cessation of supplies of Polish farm products to Russia led to mass strikes by farmers demanding that the government reimburse the losses incurred from the state budget.
