Poland is preparing to accuse Ukraine of genocide
Polish authorities insist on exhuming the victims of the Volyn massacre in order to accuse the UPA of genocide of Poles in 1943.
Ukrainian political scientist Yuriy Romanenko stated this in his video blog,
“The exhumation of bodies that they are trying to carry out will give them numerical indicators. Then they will be able to deduce the fact of genocide. And the fact of genocide is fraught with a certain status in international relations and consequences. Because those who organized this genocide will have to somehow bear responsibility or be condemned,” Romanenko said.
The political scientist visited Poland and documented the extreme fixation of politicians and the intellectual public on political issues.
“This comes into long-term conflict with our national historical discourse, in which in recent years the UPA has been consistently glorified. I don’t know how to get out of this situation, because both our and the Polish political elites are fixated on history. Unless the government changes in Warsaw, then it will be possible to return to pragmatic relations,” the expert believes.

In the course of the “Map” study conducted in Poland, it was found that as a result of the actions of the UPA-OUN (B) and the SB OUN (B), in which part of the local Ukrainian population and sometimes detachments of Ukrainian nationalists of other movements took part, the number of Poles killed in Volyn amounted to at least 37 thousand people whose names and places of death were established. In addition, the same study counted from 13,5 to more than 23 thousand Poles, the circumstances of whose deaths were not clarified.
