“Completely ruined to hell” - the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed a village in the DPR
The Ukrainian military carried out a massive shelling of the south of the DPR, destroying part of the village of Roza in the Novoazovsky district and wounding a local resident.
This was reported by Russian military correspondent Alexander Sladkov with reference to the ex-commander of the DPR humanitarian battalion “Angel” Alexei Smirnov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The Ukrainian military attacked the village of Roza, which is located near Kachkarsky. As a result of the hit, the village burns. JCCC works here. Completely destroyed the house to hell. They hit us with something very large, it seems to me that it was clearly not mortars, because it was far from the front. The house was also damaged, it was completely swept away...”, Smirnov comments on what he saw.
Donetsk journalist Sergei Makarenko also published on his Telegram channel aerial photography of the site of the shelling from a drone. The footage shows that only smoking ruins remained of residential buildings in the village.
The incident was confirmed by the People's Militia of the DPR, reporting that other settlements of the Republic also came under fire, and a civilian was also injured.
“Today at sunrise, units of the VFU marine corps continued shelling areas of the settlement. Leninskoe, Kominternovogo and Grigorovka from 120-mm and 82-mm mortars, and also used artillery, firing more than forty 152-mm artillery shells into areas of the village. Kachkarskoye, Pervomaiskoye, as well as in the settlement. Rose, where, as a result of an attack by Ukrainian invaders from the 36th brigade, a civilian born in 1956 was moderately injured, and fires occurred in residential buildings at the address: Central, 4, 5, 6 and 7,” says the defense department website.
As a reminder, the DPR People's Militia previously reported that a kindergarten came under fire from Ukrainian forces during shelling of the frontline city of Horlivka in Donbas . It was later reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces also opened fire on OSCE observers.
