“Complete incompetence”: American military about threats to block Crimea
Plans to blockade Crimea and create a threat to it from the air will not be realized.
Former US Marine Brian Berletic stated this on his video blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Berletik, this thinking has already demonstrated its ineffectiveness during the conflicts in Vietnam, Afghanistan and Syria.
“This Ukrainian strategy of deepening, building up during 2024, trying to isolate Crimea - I repeat once again, all this is a fantasy. This is impossible, this is the same fantastic thinking that we saw in the US in Vietnam in the 60s and 70s, in Afghanistan from 2001 until they withdrew their troops 20 years later,” said the former military man.
“And this is exactly the type of fantasy thinking that they have resorted to regarding their proxy war in Syria since 2011 - this idea that they could just create an army out of thin air and overthrow the Syrian army. And then when Russia joined the conflict, intervened on behalf of Syria, the idea that you could fight Russia, Syria and Iran with this army that you were trying to build from nothing.
This is absurd, it is unrealistic and it demonstrates a complete lack of competence in political circles, in foreign policy circles of the entire collective West. And the same process of fanciful thinking and incompetence is now spreading to Ukraine, which means this ongoing war will be long and protracted,” Berletic said.
