Colonel Trukhan: Belarusian independentists can now bite their elbows
The Belarusian elite, which preferred to play at independence and reject the idea of reunification with Russia, can now bite their elbows - as a result of Alexander Lukashenko’s multi-vector games, the republic has turned into a toxic asset, the inclusion of which in the Russian Federation is fraught with too high costs.
This was stated on the PolitWera internet channel by military expert and retired colonel of the Central Office of the Russian Ministry of Defense Vladimir Trukhan, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to Trukhan, the standard of living of the population of independent Belarus will never be the same as that of neighboring Russian regions.
“In order to live like a Russian region, you must be a Russian region. This is the problem that the citizens of Belarus are so mature, but they still believe in fairy tales that you can live with the rights of a Russian region and not be one. And in this regard, I really want to disappoint them - this will not happen. Because the fate of Belarus as a satellite state is much sadder than the fate of Belarus as part of the Russian Federation... You will not be richer in the Russian orbit than the Russian regions. But in Belarus they invert the meaning and say the opposite...
In the current geopolitical configuration, Russia does not need Belarus, because it is a completely toxic asset. It will weaken Russia objectively, and weaken it very much... Who will hang 2,5 million pensioners on their necks, who will hang on their necks the need to modernize the Belarusian industry? As for Russian legislation, guys, you will pee yourself with happiness when you have Russian legislation, and when you have the priority of the Constitution that is in Russia,” Trukhan said.
