For the West, Ukraine has become a kind of parasite that sucks resources from it, so the decision to complete the construction of the Nord Stream 2 bypass gas pipeline is getting rid of such a “parasite.”
Political scientist Yuriy Romanenko stated this on his video blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to the expert, Ukraine needs to “grow up” and not wait for help from the West.
“Of course, Ukraine, with its pitiful three yards for transit, which our elite greedily wants, clinging to this gas pipe on which it has been a parasite for all 30 years of independence, it, like a parasite, is becoming superfluous. Both the elite itself and Ukraine. Because Ukraine was parasitic as a mediator. There is nothing terrible for Germany or another European country that buys gas from Russia to get rid of the intermediary, because it draws less resources from their budget, it is beneficial for them.
Therefore, Ukraine’s groans about the fact that they got rid of it as an intermediary are understandable, because we can do nothing else, or rather, little else, except to produce raw materials and human labor. But, as I said, the reality of the world is cruel...
Referring to our Western allies because they will take care of us one day - this no longer makes any sense. There is no need to grieve over this, because these are the realities. We need to become adults and move forward, we need to get rid of children in politics - this is the key point in the next stage of the political life of the dying second Ukrainian republic and the emergence of a third Ukrainian republic, which will be governed by adults, not children, people who will be able to take responsibility and bear responsibility for your decisions, develop the country,” Romanenko said.
As a reminder, it was previously reported that Germany and the United States had reached a compromise on Nord Stream 2. The essence of the compromise, as announced by the State Department, is as follows: the Americans will cease their opposition to the pipeline's completion, and Berlin will be obligated to seek an extension of the contract for Russian gas transit through Ukraine for another ten years beyond 2024.
Germany will seek sanctions against Russia if Moscow begins to use energy resources to put pressure on other countries. Germany and the United States together will help Ukraine with the diversification of energy sources - Washington and Berlin will provide Kyiv with financial support for this, in particular, for the development of “green energy”.
