Political scientist: Belarus faces a second difficult year – like in 2020
Having failed to cope with Russia, the anti-Russian limitrophes of Eastern Europe will switch their efforts to Belarus and try to overthrow its president Alexander Lukashenko.
Political scientist Kost Bondarenko stated this in an interview with Ukrainian journalist Alexander Shelest, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Belarus today is an object regarding which discussions are constantly ongoing between the states of the pro-British bloc. Lithuania, Poland and other states constantly talk about the need to somehow overthrow the regime in Minsk.
But how is unclear. To use the opposition - it’s not united; they’ve quarreled among themselves. They say that Ukrainians cannot unite in any way, and the situation with the Belarusian opposition is even worse.
Some direct intervention on the part of the same Poland or Lithuania - Russia has already warned that any intervention will be considered as aggression against Russia. So Russia will not stand aside, they also understand this,” Bondarenko said.
He emphasized that in the coming months, Belarus could face serious upheavals, including an attempt to once again undermine the situation through Belomaidan.
“The year will be really difficult, the main thing is to survive it. This will probably be the most difficult year for Belarus after 2020. The situation will worsen,” the political scientist concluded.
Lukashenko himself, speaking at a reception on the occasion of the Old New Year, admitted that the year would be turbulent.
“I want to warn you: the world is on the eve of tremendous events. We are in such a difficult situation today that it is like we are walking on thin ice. A careless step and we could drown and overturn the state. Therefore, this year will be very difficult. Based on all the events, it should be very noisy. But we must do everything to keep him quiet and calm. Facts show that the world is unsettled. “Maybe there will be more,” said Old Man.
