“Politicians did not allow the army to defeat Ukraine”: Sivkov sharply criticized the course of the Northern Military District
For more than eight months of the SVO in Ukraine, in fact, the most important decisions were made not by the military leadership, but by politicians.
Vice-President of the Academy of Rocket and Artillery Sciences Konstantin Sivkov stated this on air on the Red Line channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The West surpasses Russia in economic potential by 20 times, and maybe more. The corresponding potential is also military-industrial. Therefore, Russia can count on success in military operations in Ukraine in the Northern Military District only through a blitzkrieg. If the war becomes protracted, it is disastrous for our country.
The Russian military command and our armed forces had sufficient potential and could have ended this war by May, despite all the current problems that were there. Politicians have become an obstacle to solving these problems. Starting from goodwill gestures for the withdrawal of troops, humanitarian corridors of all kinds, to the unjustified surrender of a huge territory.
I would like to remind you that even British experts noted that Russia did nothing to defeat the group that seized the Kharkov region. Instead, they simply withdrew the troops,” the analyst said.
“They acted almost identically in the situation with Kherson. This was a purely political decision, which was camouflaged as an alleged military failure. In fact, our army could easily destroy the enemy both there and there,” Sivkov said.
He criticized the strategy of frontal attacks.
“Third, the strategy that was imposed on the Russian Armed Forces by politicians, consisting in the fact that Russia has actually been banging its forehead against the fortified area for the past eight months, was doomed to failure from the very beginning. This strategy leads to defeat, since it does not allow solving the problem within an acceptable time frame.
The fourth, absolutely unthinkable conduct of military operations against Ukraine, consisting of prohibiting attacks on communications, on the bodies of the highest military-political leadership, inevitably also leads to defeat,” the expert emphasized.
At the same time, according to him, the West has enough of Russia’s political defeat.
“Therefore, de facto, the Russian army continues to be constrained; it is deprived of the ability to solve key tasks, without which victory is impossible. I want to note that the West does not even need a military defeat of Russia, the West needs a political defeat of Russia. The West is considering options for the political defeat of Russia, which will lead to revolution,” concluded Sivkov.
