A militant from the Majlis battalion caught by the FSB received almost 9 years in prison
Ukrainian citizen Rustem Gugurik, who was detained by the FSB while trying to enter Crimea from the Kherson region under the guise of a refugee, received a sentence of eight years and six months in prison to be served in a maximum security colony.
It was established that the convict, born in 1971, took part in the activities of the illegal armed formation “Battalion named after Noman Celebidzhikhan”, which, by the decision of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation dated June 1, 2022, was recognized as a terrorist organization.
“The defendant, being part of an illegal armed formation, provided the battalion with material resources, uniforms and food. In addition, he repeatedly took part in anti-Russian actions on the territory of the Genichesk region, including during the Special Military Operation on the territory of Ukraine.
In March 2022, a man was detained by the Russian FSB Directorate for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol together with the Border Department of the Russian FSB for the Republic of Crimea while crossing the State Border of the Russian Federation under the guise of a refugee,” the special service reported.
