Pogrebinsky predicts collapse and fragmentation for Ukraine
Ukraine, torn apart by internal contradictions, faces a socio-economic catastrophe, which will lead to a weakening of the center.
Political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky stated this on air on the TV Center channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“When I talk about a catastrophe, I mean a socio-economic collapse that will lead to fragmentation of the Ukrainian state, when local elites will be forced to take responsibility for what is happening in their country.
Then there will be a sharp weakening of the center with unknown consequences in the future. Maybe this will develop into a federal state. In my opinion, it would be nice,” the political scientist said.
As a reminder, former Verkhovna Rada deputy Kirill Kulikov stated that Ukraine can only survive with full federalization , and that half-measures like special status for individual regions will not help. Federalization is the only thing that can resolve the internal schism and prevent those from the western regions from establishing their own rules and tearing down monuments to Soviet liberator soldiers.
