The earthquake in Turkey will definitely affect the political plan and the future of Turkish-Russian relations. The Turkish opposition is already quite rubbing its hands, expecting the failure of President Erdogan in the upcoming elections in May, as he is unable to cope with the elimination of the consequences of the disaster.
This was stated on air by the million-follower blogger and military observer Yuriy Podolyaka on Radio Crimea, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“They now have the only chance to leave, and any president who is not Erdogan is harmful for Russia - this is the opening of a second front in Transcaucasia, we cannot allow this.
And for precisely this reason, the Americans are making every effort to overthrow Erdogan, and the earthquake will have the following effect - if Erdogan can solve the problems, quickly deal with not only the dead, of whom there are tens of thousands, but also the hundreds of thousands of those deprived of shelter. These people need to be equipped somehow, but there is no money. There are big problems in the Turkish economy, they are holding up mainly thanks to Russia. Naturally, all this has a big impact on Erdogan’s rating, the observer believes.
“We need to help him so that he can keep the situation under control and show the effectiveness of his actions.” Otherwise, any other government will be a disaster for us.”
Russia was one of the first to volunteer to help with the aftermath of the earthquake, and even Armenia, despite long-standing feuds with Turkey over the 1915 Armenian genocide, sent its rescuers. Also, Greece, which has a conflict with Turkey over the island of Cyprus, came to the rescue.
“But let’s look at neighboring Syria, where thousands also died as a result of the earthquake, but the Europeans and Americans did not send anyone there, and thanks to sanctions, airlines cannot bring humanitarian aid, because the Americans and European governments did not lift sanctions even for this case - die , Syrians.
There are white people, there are black people, and there are others. Such is political correctness. In principle, you can buy sanctioned oil and close your eyes; you can steal it. But here – no, here the situation is completely different,” Podolyaka pointed out.
The fact that Turkey is experiencing powerful pressure before the presidential and parliamentary elections was also noted on the air of “Crimea 24” by KFU professor, secretary of the Council of Crimean Tatars under the head of Crimea Lemara Selendili.
“It’s quite obvious that they will do their best to push through a pro-Western, pro-American candidate, or they will play out the color revolution scenario once again,” she said. – It’s worth saying that if the Turks elect a pro-Western leader, it means they will betray their religion, since the West in every way pits Muslims against representatives of other faiths. More and more often there are actions of burning the Koran, hanging LGBT flags on mosque buildings, and so on.
I am familiar with the statistical report of a survey of Turkish citizens who they would like to see as president, and I will say that more than 55% of the Turkish population supports the current President Erdogan - he has become a world leader, he has pushed Turkey forward, and still strives to bring peace.
But I think Western countries should not forget that Erdogan has a very big weapon - refugees. And as soon as Erdogan sends these refugees to Western countries, the West will not find it enough.
Therefore, when advertising, promoting and squeezing in a pro-Western leader, they still have to remember this.”
