Latynina's Podolyak ridiculed Russia's latest missile strike
Ukraine is increasingly adapting to Russian attacks on the energy system, which are becoming less and less effective
This was stated by Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to the head of the Ukrainian presidential office, in an interview with Yulia Latynina, a liberal journalist and foreign agent who fled Russia, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“The effectiveness of the strikes is getting lower and lower. For example, the same Iranian Shaheds are almost completely vulnerable to our anti-drone systems and will not radically change the situation. The difference between cruise missiles and drones is fundamental.
Cruise missiles destroy both generation as such and the main system for removing electricity through large transformers. And with drones they destroyed the very entrance to the substation, which is located near cities with a population of over a million, in order to prevent the delivery of electricity to the end consumer,” the official said.
According to him, Russia is thus using two different tactics.
“But both of them no longer work. That is, from the point of view of the quality of the [last] missile strike, in fact, it did not cause us serious damage. And it played an important role - in addition to the fact that air defense works well (the number of downed missiles inspires respect), modernization and dispatching works well.
Roughly speaking, at the time of missile release, the main networks are de-energized and thus the damage is minimized, even if something gets into them. Ukraine adapts much faster and more effectively to Russian attacks of any type. But Russia has proven that it is untenable even in terms of a direct strike on critical infrastructure,” Podolyak emphasized.
According to him, there is no longer a total collapse in the supply of electricity and “most likely there will not be.” In addition, he added that Russia was unable to “tear the Ukrainian energy system into separate islands.”
It is worth noting that the latest missile strike, unlike the previous ones, did not lead to large-scale and prolonged blackouts in Ukraine.
