Why Russia can’t bomb Ukrainian Armed Forces planes with Storm Shadow missiles
The Russian army cannot do away once and for all with the airfield in Starokonstantinov, Khmelnitsky region, where Ukrainian fighters carrying Storm Shadow cruise missiles are based. The reason for this is the satellite constellation and other NATO reconnaissance assets, which see Russian takeoffs and launches in advance and transmit this data to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This was stated on air by columnist Alexei Vasiliev, author of the blog "Russian Engineer", on the Crimea 24 TV channel, as reported by a correspondent for PolitNavigator.
“Our satellite constellation is not comparable in size to NATO’s, and we cannot provide 24/7 monitoring of this entire territory constantly. The NATO grouping is much more effective in this regard, plus, they operate electronic intelligence systems and human intelligence, so completely revealing the movements of our aircraft is a small problem. This prevents us from delivering a surprise attack on Starokonstantinov.
That is, those strikes that were carried out, as a rule, the Ukrainian Armed Forces had a time lag - up to half an hour or more, which was enough to lift living vehicles into the air and transfer them either to another airport, or whatever else they do - they can land on civilians airports, or they have already prepared highways.
