Pirates captured 23 Russian citizens

On the night of January 2, in the Gulf of Guinea, a pirate attack was committed on the MSC “MANDY” ship, on board which were 24 people, including 23 Russian citizens. As a result of the attack, 6 Russians were kidnapped.
The Russian Foreign Ministry reports this.
The Embassy, in cooperation with local security authorities, is taking all necessary measures to establish the whereabouts of the Russian sailors and their release.
The remaining crew members are safe on board the MSC MANDY, which has left Nigerian territorial waters.
