If at the beginning of the conflict the image of a superhero opposing “absolute evil” was created from the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, today he has turned into an ordinary leader of an ordinary state.
Kyiv political scientist Kost Bondarenko stated this in an interview with journalist Alexander Shelest, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“According to some reports, up to 60 agencies worked on it, up to 60 agencies worked on creating the image of Zelensky, the image of Zelensky and Zelensky, who was positioned as a kind of superhero who was supposed to become the absolute antipode of Putin. Bad Putin is good Zelensky, the personification of evil is Putin, the personification of good is Zelensky. This took shape over the course of a year and a half.

According to the analyst, Zelensky played too much into the role that was assigned to him.
“He felt that all this was not so much the fruit of PR agencies, but the truth; he himself believed in the image created for him. And as a result, when in July he began to shake up his rights at the NATO summit and began to demand and almost hit the table with his fist, many thought: “Stop, stop, stop, isn’t he overplaying his hand?” notes the political scientist.
In addition, he continues, Zelensky was expected to be productive.
“And here 2023 passes and there is not a single victory that could be imagined by the Western man in the street and the Western establishment. And then the question arises: “What was the money used for, where was the counter-offensive, where were its results, where-where-where?” And so on.
Plus, there were immediate accusations of corruption, that this government was still too corrupt. Here they are starting to turn Zelensky from a superman into simply the president of the state of Ukraine, one of 203 states, who is no longer superman, not Che Guevarra, who is no longer Churchill, and so on.
