The threat of prison looms before the Ukrainian ambassador to Canada
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU), based on the case won by representatives of Viktor Yanukovych's former deputy head of the administration, Andriy Portnov, in the Solomensky Court, has opened criminal proceedings against Ukraine's ambassador to Canada, Andriy Shevchenko, for failing to declare a land sale in Crimea, which is considered "occupied" under Ukrainian law, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Andrey Portnov reported this on his Telegram channel.

“Let me remind you that the defendant recognized the jurisdiction of Russia in Crimea, conducting a transaction there according to Russian laws on a Russian notary form, and in this regard we are conducting separate procedural work in the courts and the DBI,” the ex-official wrote.
“We narrow the circle and continue to furnish the official with judicial and law enforcement documents. After Poroshenko’s resignation, we are planning a qualitative breakthrough in this matter. The ultimate goal is prison,” added Andrei Portnov.
