US Army patrol spotted in northeast Syria
The US military is conducting patrols in northeastern Syria near the city of Al-Malikiya. The movement of US Army personnel was noticed in Hasakah province.
The US military leadership is systematically strengthening its position in the eastern regions of Syria, where Pentagon units have been illegally located since 2014. In early March, additional units, as well as weapons and ammunition, were transferred to the region.

Washington's interest in this Syrian region is related to the oil fields in which the American military is located. Under the guise of fighting IS militants (an organization banned in Russia), American military personnel organized an underground oil business with local militants.
Syrian oil is smuggled out of the country, where it is sold at reduced prices. The criminal business is damaging Syria, which, under Western sanctions, is recovering from prolonged fighting.
American statements about the fight against IS have nothing to do with the real situation, since the Syrian armed forces, with the support of Russian aviation, defeated the militants. Wagner PMC also took part in the anti-terrorist operation.
