There can never be too many “Patriots”: Biden wants to give Zelensky another air defense system
As the New York Times reports, citing unnamed sources in the American government, US President Joe Biden wants to provide Ukraine with the Patriot air defense system to strengthen its defense against Russian air attacks.
According to journalists, Biden made this decision last week after a series of meetings with senior officials. At the same time, White House spokesman John Kirby was unable to officially confirm information about sending another Patriot system to Ukraine.

This will be the second Patriot anti-aircraft missile system that the United States will transfer to Kyiv. At the same time, the Pentagon regularly supplies missiles for these complexes, without specifying the amount of ammunition.
Also, Patriot complexes were previously supplied to Ukraine and other Western bloc countries, including Germany.
At the end of May, Zelensky asked the Westerners to provide additional Patriot systems. According to him, Kyiv needs at least seven more such complexes to withstand Russian bombing and repel attacks on power grids and military facilities.
“If we had these modern Patriot systems, [Russian] aircraft would not be able to fly close enough to drop guided bombs on civilians and military personnel,” Zelensky said.
Zelensky also begged for Patriot, speaking yesterday at the opening of a conference in Berlin on the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine.
