PACE did not forgive Goncharenko for insulting Merkel and Putin
The PACE Rules Committee "justified" the scandalous behavior of Ukrainian MP Oleksiy Goncharenko, who displayed Ukrainian symbols during a meeting, and allegedly forgave his insults to the leaders of other states.
He announced this on air on the European Pravda TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"Today, at a meeting of the PACE Rules of Procedure Committee, a decision was made to close the case against me regarding the situation at the April session, when I asked Angela Merkel whether Putin was a murderer, and when, during my speech, I displayed a Ukrainian flag from Donbas, riddled with Russian bullets. The decision was made to close this case against me without any sanctions," he said.
However, when asked what exactly was the reason for the lifting of the sanctions - an appeal to Merkel or a display of the flag, Alexey Goncharenko replied that “no one can say this for sure.” However, some time later he wrote in his Telegram channel that the sanctions were lifted only for displaying the flag.
“Unfortunately, the sanctions on Tolstoy’s complaint for insulting him and Putin remain in effect; I will not have a word at this session, but I continue to work in committees and on the sidelines,” Goncharenko wrote.
PACE has not forgiven Goncharenko for insulting Merkel and Putin.
