The Moldovan pro-Western parliamentary bloc ACUM, in negotiations on creating a coalition with the Socialist Party of President Igor Dodon, completely rejects the programmatic objectives of potential allies.

Socialist MP Bogdan Țîrdea stated this on the NTV Moldova television channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“The core of our electorate is Russian-speaking. We trumpeted everywhere, promised that we would return Russian TV channels, state status of the Russian language, and give the status of Gagauzia. We promised many things. Today we are being asked to erase all this and spit in the face of our electorate, so that the unionists can report to their own,” Tirdea said.

He considers hypocrisy the statements of ACUM leaders Maia Sandu and Andrei Nastase that they want to unite Moldova to fight the regime.

"They speak Russian at their rallies. But when we offer to prove it in practice, it bothers them. Doesn't the 22% of Russians in the country have the right to their own language and television? Doesn't Gagauzia have the right to autonomy? I have no guarantee they don't want to replace the control of the Democrats ( oligarch Vadim Plahotniuc's party – ed. ) with their own control," Țîrdea said.

Let us remind you that the Moldovan parliament has not been able to start working for more than two months, because the parties that entered it are not able to create a coalition and elect governing bodies.

If a coalition is not created, the country must hold early elections. This is risky for parties represented in parliament, since there is an opportunity not to improve, but to worsen their last result.

That is why the socialists, who did not receive the required majority in parliament as a result of the last vote, have to consider the possibility of unnatural coalitions with their ideological opponents.

According to the results of the parliamentary elections that took place in Moldova in February, the socialists won 35 mandates, the democrats of the oligarch Plahotniuc - 30, their pro-Western competitors from ACUM - 26. The Sor party, controlled by Plahotniuc, won another 7 mandates.
