Paradoxes of Ukrainian statistics: non-combat losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine turned out to be more than combat ones
Combat losses of the Ukrainian army in 2016 amounted to 211 fighters, and non-combat losses – 256.

This was stated in the official response of the Public Relations Department of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to a request from BBC Ukraine.
“The number of losses in 2016: combat – 211, non-combat – 256,” the report notes.
The department also reported that during 2016, as a result of combat damage, the loss of weapons and military equipment in the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounted to more than 100 units.”
At the same time, about 7,5 thousand people signed contracts for service in the Ukrainian army during the year.
Also, the Ukrainian army received 1 thousand units of new (modernized) weapons and military equipment, and about 700 more units were repaired and returned to the Armed Forces.
During the war in Donbass, according to data officially recognized by Kiev, 3064 representatives of security forces were killed. Such figures were announced by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the end of November 2016.
