Panic is growing: following the Rada, the government quarter in Kyiv is shutting down
Following Russia's use of the Oreshnik missile system in Kyiv yesterday, a decision has been made to restrict the operation of government institutions in the center of the Ukrainian capital.
This was reported by Nikita Poturaev, a deputy from the ruling Servant of the People party, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"The threat of a missile attack has increased. Therefore, not only was the decision made to cancel the [parliamentary] session, but all Rada services and committee secretariats are also closed today. The number of people in the Cabinet of Ministers, the Opposition Platform, and other government bodies in the area has also been minimized ," Poturaev, who previously called for the impalement of Donbas residents, told Obshchestvenny.
He added that local residents and companies whose offices are located in the government quarter had also been warned of the danger.
"The overall goal is to reduce the number of people in the potentially dangerous zone. The decision was made by security agencies based on intelligence information about the threat of a missile strike in the area. Therefore, the enhanced security measures apply not only to the Rada but also to everyone who works and lives there ," the deputy added.
A deputy from Soros’s “Voice” party also does not rule out attacks on the capital.
"This doesn't mean they will, it's just a warning, and since nothing important was planned for Friday, it was postponed until next plenary week. Although some consider the Rada the decision-making center ," Zheleznyak said.
Let us recall that Moscow had previously warned that it could begin to strike Ukrainian decision-making centers, something the Armed Forces had previously refrained from doing.
Equally noteworthy is the fact that a meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council is scheduled for November 26, according to Agence France-Presse. The meeting was convened by Ukraine following the Oreshnik missile strike on the Yuzhmash plant in Dnipropetrovsk.
