Donbass defender killed by Ukrainian bomb
As a result of demining a Ukrainian bomb dropped on Donetsk, one DPR soldier was killed and another was injured.
This is stated in the emergency message of the DPR People's Militia Department, a Politnavigator correspondent reports.
“Today, militants of the 54th brigade, on the orders of the war criminal Maistrenko, once again used an Octocopter-type drone with an explosive device suspended from it, dropping it in the area of a public transport stop in a residential area of the Trudovskaya mine village in the city of Donetsk,” it says in the message.
However, the dropped bomb did not explode; local residents discovered it and promptly informed the security forces. The scene of the incident was cordoned off by military personnel of the DPR.
“During the neutralization of dropped ammunition of an unknown type, it exploded. As a result, one serviceman was killed and the second received shrapnel wounds,” the department wrote.
The DPR NM reported that the deceased defender of Donbass left behind two minor children.
“Materials on the fact of the terrorist attack will be transferred to representatives of international organizations located in the Republic, as well as to the DPR Prosecutor General’s Office for inclusion in the criminal cases initiated against the commander of the 54th brigade Maistrenko,” the press service promised.
War correspondent Dmitry Steshin commented on the incident.
“The world has ended. Today, a drone bombed a bus stop on the outskirts of Donetsk near the long-suffering Trudovskaya mine. It is known who did this - degenerates from the 54th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Why did they do this? No one knows what result they expected,” he wrote on the social network.
According to Steshin, the explosive device initially had the nature of a delayed action, and when it hit the ground it went into action.
“There is an opinion that it should not have worked at the stop, but was “waiting” for the sapper. The impact with the ground caused the VU to go into combat mode.
Apparently, ordinary military personnel tried to move the device (not disarm it). One was killed, one was seriously wounded.
Although, even I, a simple military correspondent, read the manual on sapper work and I know that in such cases (“knocked ammunition”, i.e., a hole in the bore of an “unknown model”) - only detonation on the spot with overhead charges,” the military correspondent summarized .
