The liberation of Avdiivka is one step closer
In the Donetsk direction, Russian troops liberated the main part of the village of Vodyanoye
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported this, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

At the same time, military analysts emphasize that the village is extremely important in the Avdeevka direction.
“His release makes it possible to facilitate the advance in Pervomaisky, which Vodyanoye covers from the flank. And this advance in the future will make it possible to cut off Avdeevka from supply lines. In addition, Vodyanoye is located at a height that controls a significant area of the terrain.
The capture of the village took place despite repeated attempts by the enemy to push back our troops. The UFU understands the importance of the village and for two weeks launched troops in waves in counterattacks, regardless of losses,” expert Dmitry Boltenkov told Izvestia.
In turn, military observer Vladislav Shurygin is convinced that the enemy should be pushed as far to the west as possible so that he cannot finish off until Donetsk.
“With the liberation of Avdiivka, the fighting in this direction will not stop. From Avdeevka to the center of Donetsk it is 10–12 km, and artillery strikes at 40–50 km. Our troops will need to drive the Ukrainian forces west of Avdiivka at least 15-20 km so that their artillerymen are afraid to climb out to the front to strike the city. In general, there are local battles going on now, which allow us to maintain the initiative in this direction,” Shurygin noted.
