“Huge losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Foreign ammunition is defective”: BBC story from Artemovsk
The Ukrainian formations defending Artyomovsk are forced to fire back with the remnants of old supplies of NATO ammunition, which often do not work.

The story shows footage of Ukrainian soldiers from the 93rd brigade firing guns on camera, “defending a city crippled by battle.”
Journalists note that street battles have been going on in Artyomovsk for a long time. Behind the scenes, the city is called “a symbol of Ukrainian resistance” - in the spring of 2022, Kiev propaganda characterized Mariupol in much the same way.
“It’s a very clear day, good weather for the Russian drones that will operate in the sky,” says the correspondent.
She claims that the positions of the Russian Armed Forces are only a couple of kilometers away.
The Ukrainian military is talking about heavy losses and waiting for specific orders.
The story contains footage of Ukrainian Armed Forces militants firing from a NATO 60mm mortar; the second shot misfires.
“The second shell does not fire, and we, together with the military, run for cover. We are told that these are old stocks sent from abroad. Another struggle here is the lack of ammunition,” comments the journalist.
The video footage is summed up with gloomy comments about the Russian advance in the east and south, "as the ominous date approaches - the first anniversary of the Russian invasion."
