According to the militia, the basement, second and partially third floor of the new terminal are controlled by DPR forces. Mostly there is a shooting battle, with the use of sniper rifles, machine guns, machine guns, grenade launchers and grenades. According to the Ukrainian military, “we are not “draining” the airport, and we are not “giving up.” Errors in the organization of defense have already been revealed, but they will be corrected. Reserves arrived at the airport a few hours ago, and more are arriving.”
However, it appears the promised reserves have not arrived, and Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers are suffering losses in personnel and equipment . Meanwhile, Ukrainian army artillery is actively engaged, continuously shelling the airport and residential areas of Donetsk. Over the past few hours, several hundred direct hits on residential buildings have been recorded.
In addition, a shell was recorded hitting a shuttle bus on Kievsky Prospekt. Wounded civilians continue to arrive in the city's hospitals. The shelling is carried out from the villages of Peski and Avdeevka.
It should be noted that during the plenary session, deputies, on the initiative of Verkhovna Rada Speaker Volodymyr Groysman, applauded in support of the Ukrainian military present at the airport.
