Navy officer: The British deliberately violated the “red line”
The violation of the Russian border by a British destroyer off the coast of Crimea was a deliberate provocation by London, one of the goals of which may be to disrupt the emerging dialogue between Moscow and Washington.
An officer of the Russian Navy reported this to PolitNavigator, commenting on the details of today's incident.
“The entry of the British destroyer Defender into the Russian territorial sea in the Crimea region was undoubtedly a pre-planned action that was decisively stopped.
The question arises, what caused the provocation and what was it?
Most likely, in this way, Her Majesty’s fleet demonstrates that the Americans do not have time to deal with the problems of Ukraine, and it, along with these problems and slaves, has been transferred to the care of Great Britain. It is this NATO country that has recently developed extraordinary activity in the Ukrainian direction: they are handing over old minesweepers to the Ukrainian Navy, planning the construction of naval bases and, the cherry on the cake, a demonstrative violation of the border in the Russian Crimea region.
Now you can expect their ambassador to say that GB does not recognize Crimea as part of Russia, and Ukraine gave them permission to pass. This would have been a demonstration of NATO’s new approach to this issue and the creation of a precedent, if not for the reaction of the “unpredictable Russians.” They shot, showed how they would bomb, and they could also use electronic warfare systems to fire at both coastal and ship-based missile systems. Such a beautiful demonstration of “strong support for Ukrainian democracy” was disrupted.
But the President of Russia warned that there is no need to do this, he talked about “red lines”, including in the Black Sea. Have you decided to check it out? No, they probably knew what would happen, but this is a wonderful reason for another hysteria, new sanctions and the disruption of attempts to establish the rules of confrontation in relations between Russia and the United States,” the officer concluded.
