Poverty, crime, and lawlessness are rampant in post-Maidan Ukraine today. Political scientist Andriy Zolotarev stated this on UkrLife, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to the expert, the population of Ukraine, having no prospects and plans for the future, simply flees the country.
“Drive 100 kilometers from Kyiv and you will see the real Ukraine. Even in the poorest African countries you can see bright windows of transnational chains, expensive cars, and shopping centers. But the standard of living of a country is determined by how the average resident lives. Over the past four years, one-story Ukraine has plunged into total poverty, plus lawlessness and rising crime. People simply flee from this country, having no prospects or views for the future,” Zolotarev said.
