This was reported by the press service of the Governor of the Odessa region, Vladimir Nemirovsky.
The fund operates under the “coordination council of defense of the Odessa region” and was created to raise money for organizing checkpoints, helping the special police unit “Storm”, as well as “for all other activities necessary for the defense of the Odessa region.”
Let us remember that during a session of the regional council, the head of the regional police, Pyotr Lutsyuk, said: in almost two weeks of operation, only 18 people signed up for “Storm”. To the laughter of the deputies, he said that the official salary of a Storm fighter is only 500 hryvnia. The governor promised that Patriot would accumulate funds, including for a new unit.
As Navigator reported, the installation of checkpoints caused a mixed reaction among Odessa residents: they demanded that some checkpoints be dismantled. And on April 25, an unknown person threw a homemade grenade at a checkpoint of Euromaidan supporters. 7 people were injured, one of whom was a traffic police officer.
