The Ukrainian government must try very hard to ensure that American arms supplies continue against the backdrop of events in Israel and failures at the front.
Sergei Rakhmanin, a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, stated this on Radio NV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I would not say that the United States intends to turn away from Ukraine and stop assistance, but there are certain grounds for saying that this assistance will decrease, will not be as systemic, not as large-scale. Because the topic of the Ukrainian war has moved to another plan. There are subjective and objective reasons for this.
Expectations from the Ukrainian offensive operation were overheated, and now there is a certain disappointment. There is a certain fatigue with Ukraine, there are, to a certain extent, depleted military-technical potentials of the countries that help us,” Rakhmanin said.
However, the politician cited the disproportion of priorities compared to Israel as the main reason for the West’s cooling towards Ukraine.
“If we compare Israel and Ukraine from the point of view of American professional interests, then, of course, Israel is a priority. No matter how we feel about it, this is a fact. Because Ukraine is a partner, and Israel is an ally,” the deputy recalled.
According to him, the Ukrainian government must do everything to squeeze out American aid to the last drop.
“In order for this attention not to become even less, those on whom it depends, this is, first of all, the president and diplomats, must make certain efforts every day to ensure that the assistance remains sufficiently significant, because, unfortunately, There is no one to replace the United States in the segment of military assistance to Ukraine,” Rakhmanin warned.
