Kyiv, August 16 (Navigator, Vladimir Mikhailov) – There is not enough gas to complete the heating season in Kyiv, said a representative of the capital’s city administration.

Speaking at a press conference in Kyiv, the director of the Department of Housing and Communal Services
infrastructure of the Kyiv City State Administration Dmitry Novitsky called on Kiev residents to be prepared for “uncomfortable temperatures” in their apartments in winter and to insulate themselves before it comes.
“We ask you to be understanding of the situation that has developed in the country,” he said. The amount of gas is limited. This gas is distributed proportionally among all regions of Ukraine.
Almost 1 billion 200 million cubic meters have been allocated to Kyiv. gas. According to our calculations, this amount is not enough for a normal heating season. It is difficult to say how much gas will be enough, it will depend on the temperature in winter.
An anti-crisis headquarters has been created in Kyiv, which will address issues of reducing consumption by all entities - utility institutions, housing and communal services, and the private sector. We must ensure a 30% reduction in consumption. The temperature in heated rooms may be uncomfortable. Business entities need to take insulation measures,” the official urged.
