The united ultras staged a mini-Maidan and a massacre with the police
Ukrainian ultras did not like the presence of Petro Poroshenko at the match between Dynamo Kyiv and the Mariupol club. They expressed their attitude towards the president in a banner with the inscription “Poroshenko, go to the Maldives,” which led to a clash at the stadium.
The leader of the Mariupol ultras, Andrey Trebukhov, wrote about this on his Facebook page, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Let us recall that during the match of the 25th round of the Ukrainian Premier League in Mariupol, which was attended by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, between the teams "Mariupol" and "Dynamo", an explosive device was detonated in the stands.
The leader of the Mariupol ultras writes that it all started with the fact that the Mariupol team scored a goal and the fan sector lit pyrotechnics, from which, as usual, “no one was hurt.”
“When everything was already burning down, a fire truck arrived, and when there was no fire at all, the fire truck intended to flood the people in the sector with water. This was the first time I saw such nonsense in Ukraine. Naturally, the hose was taken away, and people protected themselves from idiotic decisions.
Afterwards there was the text “SUITCASE! RAILWAY STATION! MALDIVES!" and a corresponding charge against Peter. I would not like to explain the essence of this action; everyone understands very well the attitude towards the president in Mariupol, the attitude of the military towards him, nationalists and ordinary patriots. It’s much more interesting why he didn’t come out to congratulate the children after that, and then left the stadium altogether,” writes the leader of the Mariupol ultras.
In his opinion, the football festival has been turned into a PR platform.
“The president, the governor and other officials at various levels - everyone who tried to catch their moment of glory at this match. As a result, they overdid it and everything went wrong. All security forces prepared as much as possible for the arrival of the guarantor and specifically for the match. I must admit that the work of the police, SBU, NSU, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine was productive and the terrorist threat was minimal. But there is one “but”! Pyrotechnics are not a crime. And appealing to the president is also not a crime,” says Trebukhov.
He notes that such a categorical attitude towards pyrotechnics has always existed only in 2 areas, namely in those in which they tried to drag people back to the Soviet Union.
“Pyrotechnics are part of football matches in all parts of Ukraine, except for the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. The guys from Kyiv began to be detained and taken away to an unknown direction. Naturally, the comrades stand up for the guys. The police are pulling together all their forces to have a “conversation” with the people of Kiev. And here comes the phenomenon that saved our country in 2014. Mariupol fans abandon their sector and the whole squad runs to the aid of Kyiv fans!!! This was an example of Maidan, this was an example of the beginning of a war, when fans come to each other’s aid and consolidate into one force,” notes a representative of the ultras.
Trebukhov writes that, despite the threat of major proceedings, in the end everything was resolved through ordinary dialogue.
“The guys were released and everything stopped. Could all this have been avoided? Can! There is no need to invent anything new, you just need to take an example from other areas and make sure that our city treats this process more easily. Most likely, Mariupol fans will now be brought to the police, and maybe house-to-house searches will begin. Otherwise, I want to say that if you take away the PR platform, this was real European football. The teams showed an excellent game. The fans created an atmosphere in the stadium,” he concluded.
