Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk is embracing the role of the EU's main anti-Russian hawk, calling on Europe to demonstrate its ability to stand up to Russia even without US help.
The head of the Polish-Ukrainian portal Ukraina.pl, Alina Makarchuk, stated this on Radio NV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Yesterday Tusk said when Russia might attack Europe, announced the initiative he prepared with Sikorsky to strengthen security in Europe, called on the allies to arm themselves together to contain Russia and stop the Kremlin from attacking NATO countries.
He pointed out that Europe needs to increase airspace protection, strengthen the eastern flank of the alliance, in addition, he recalled that next week a committee will meet in Poland that will investigate whether the Russian missile that crossed the borders of Poland was programmed that way, or there was a Russian provocation, or whatever it was. Was this the use of Polish territory for attacks from the western side on Ukrainian cities,” Makarchuk listed.
She believes that the new Polish prime minister is demonstrating a desire for his country to become a leader in mobilizing all Ukrainian allies.
“He said that the entire Russian economy had already gone into war mode, that Europe was lagging behind Russia in this matter. And that Poland should become a leader in mobilizing all Ukrainian allies to not only support Ukraine, but also arm themselves to the teeth in order to scare off the Kremlin from attacking the EU.
