Oligarch Rinat Akhmetov, who has broken into the favorites of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, will seek widespread use of extremely expensive electricity by Ukraine.
Vladimir Sinelnikov, a correspondent for the radio station Vesti FM Kiev, announced this on the air of the YouTube channel PolitWera, as reported by a correspondent for PolitNavigator.
“Now Akhmetov has become Zelensky’s favorite, and he is receiving huge dividends. He has settled down very well, he controls the market for energy resources and power generation, and receives huge bonuses due to monopoly established absolutely non-market tariffs for heat.
And now they are lobbying for the day of “green energy” and increasing tariffs, because Akhmetov has solar power plants. Energy there is very expensive, but it will be imposed on a poor country because Akhmetov needs money. In general, I would like to note that in Ukraine the cost of electricity is at least one and a half times higher than in Poland. This is true if we compare the standard of living of Poland and Ukraine,” Sinelnikov said.
As a reminder, Kyiv has begun shutting down state-owned nuclear power plants to ensure the operation of private solar and wind power plants.
