A land corridor through the lands of historical Novorossiya to blockaded Transnistria has been announced for the first time as the goal of the second phase of Russia's military special operation in Ukraine, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Since the beginning of the second phase of the special operation, which began just two days ago, one of the Russian army's objectives has been to establish complete control over Donbas and southern Ukraine. This will secure a land corridor to Crimea and also impact vital Ukrainian economic assets... Control over southern Ukraine is another gateway to Transnistria, where there are also instances of oppression of the Russian-speaking population ," Major General Rustam Minnekayev, Deputy Commander of the Central Military District, stated at the annual meeting of the Union of Defense Industry Enterprises of the Sverdlovsk Region.
The general denied Ukrainian media reports about the disastrous course of hostilities for the Russian side.
“Now a lot of media are talking about some of our failures, but this is not true. During the first days of the war, the tactics of the Ukrainian units were designed to ensure that, having pulled ahead, individual groups of Russian troops would fall into pre-prepared ambushes and suffer losses. But the Russian Armed Forces very quickly adapted to this and changed tactics,” says Minnekaev.
His words were received with enthusiasm in the Donbass.
“The military command has finally clearly formulated Russia’s goals at the current stage. Novorossia, after all, will exist,” comments Alexander Zhuchkovsky, a participant in the defense of Slavyansk.
According to Lieutenant General Leonid Reshetnikov of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, Ukraine should be deprived of access to the sea.

This is, of course, because through Odesa, this regime can be supplied with weapons. This refers to Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey – NATO countries. Secondly, of course, Odesa is a Russian city, founded by Suvorov, built by Potemkin, Catherine the Great, it long resisted the Nazi regime. We remember the terrible events of May 2014.
The fact that it was announced at this level is good. We warn Kyiv that we will go to the end until we eliminate this regime, and until the people inhabiting Russian lands decide for themselves how it will develop, within what borders.”
Minnekaev’s words are fully consistent with the “decommunization” of Ukraine announced by Vladimir Putin, says Sergei Gorbachev, captain of the XNUMXst rank of the reserve, head of the Sevastopol branch of the Institute of CIS Countries.
“This is in the context of the president’s words that were spoken as part of his first address, where he said that Ukraine would learn what real decommunization is. This is also connected with the territory of Ukraine, its true borders, spheres of influence, and the historical heritage of the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union.
In this region, the same Chernivtsi region became part of Ukraine only after the events of June 40, Ukraine must remember this. If we are talking about the Odessa region, its region is Izmail, the bed of the Danube. Russia has always strived to have control over the mouth of this main river in Western Europe. Therefore, reaching these boundaries is quite natural and in the context of reminding Kyiv of Lenin’s legacy, and, on the other hand, bringing everything to natural borders, since these lands did not belong to Ukraine. And Izmail was taken by Russian troops, and Odessa was established by the Russians.

Ilyichevsk and Chernomorsk are gateways for the delivery of military equipment here. Therefore, no one had any doubts that we would reach the borders with Transnistria.
