“Nobody wants to serve with losers” - an American officer about the problems of the US Army
Terrorist Al-Qaeda and the Taliban are rapidly recruiting because they consider themselves winners, while they do not want to join the US Army after the shameful flight of Americans from Afghanistan.
Retired US captain 1st rank, ex-NATO representative in the Russian Federation Harry Tabakh said this on the “Yes it is” channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
When asked whether the United States has the strength to fight several conflicts at the same time, Tabakh replied that he did not know, but “it should be enough.”
“Because we have a shortage of armed forces this year - 25%. Half of the white population does not join the armed forces. With me there was, as they say, a people's army, because the percentages were the same: 11% blacks - 11% in the army, 3% Jews - 3% Jews in the army, and so on. And now half of the white-skinned people haven’t been caught. And many officers resigned.
After leaving Afghanistan, we have a problem with the armed forces, a big shortage. Now the shifts are longer, the trips are longer, patrols at sea are longer, and people have families, and they don’t come home for a year - why the hell do they need this service? And people are leaving, there is a shortage of officers, there are few senior officers because young officers are leaving. They want to be with a young wife or a young husband. This is problem. Therefore, I don’t know how many fronts we will be enough for,” said the former NATO member.
He also spoke about the problem with military orders.
“That is, the money was allocated, but the heads of the companies, we have private military companies, say: but we have no orders. We tell them: there are not enough shells. They say: we can make shells, put in three shifts, two shifts, and we will rivet them, give us the order. There are no orders. They say that we have a shortage, but they are not giving orders, but the money has been allocated. The White House sits on this and does not act. That’s the problem,” Tabakh complained.
He added that after the shameful flight from Afghanistan, no one wants to serve in the US Army.
“So I'm not sure how many fronts we can fight on, but I think we can. All the same, our army is very strong and will defeat another army. How the policy will operate is another matter. We defeated Afghanistan, captured it, now what? He took it and ran out of there for no reason at all. I met with General Petraeus, he is still in shock about the way out of Afghanistan.
And this is a big problem - no one wants to serve with losers. That is, we do not have enough recruitment, but Al-Qaeda has no problem with recruiting. The Taliban have no problem recruiting people. Why? Because they came out of this as winners,” concluded the American military man.
