“Neither win nor capitulate”: Ukrainians have driven themselves into a death trap – Chaplyga
A significant part of Ukrainian society already understands that victory in the war is impossible, but in “Independence” even offering some kind of peace negotiations can be extremely life-threatening.
Political scientist Mikhail Chaplyga, who emigrated from Ukraine, stated this in an interview with Ukrainian journalist Alexander Shelest, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“There is no concept of a truce; in any case, it will be interpreted as surrender, no matter how you look at it. In our black and white world there is only victory and surrender, there is no third.
That’s why I posted a poll on my place: “For surrender” or “for victory.” I gave another third option: “I’ll die or leave, because it’s impossible to live like this anymore.” Twenty percent were asked to “die or leave.” Because you can’t live like this any longer,” Chaplyga said.
He emphasized that now in Ukraine, seriously proposing a truce means risking your freedom and life.
“You understand that the choice of “victory” or “surrender” is a question of whether you will live or not. Because to say “surrender” is to violate the Criminal Code.
We are driven into a corner by ourselves, there is no way you can get out of this situation. And Zelensky clearly explained that there would be no conversations, except for one thing: “We are moving forward until victory.” What will we talk about, where and how?” the political scientist concluded.
