Berlin – Kyiv, April 1 (PolitNavigator, Vasily Ablyazimov) – A new development by the Russian military-industrial complex has attracted the attention of foreign media. The T-14 Armata tank, which is scheduled to be unveiled for the first time at the Victory Day Parade in May of this year, is one of the most anticipated new developments, according to the German newspaper Stern.

The publication reports that the T-14 tank is the first real innovation since the collapse of the USSR - and probably the best in its class in the world.
The official debut of the new Armata main battle tank is expected at the parade in Moscow in honor of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War on May 9th. Meanwhile, the first real images appeared online.
German journalists believe that a completely new main battle tank could surpass both the Bundeswehr's Leopard 2, developed more than 35 years ago, and the American M1 Abrams, of the same age of development. Improvements have been made to existing tank models, while the T-14 is a unique development.
Armata is the first real innovative development in Russia after the collapse of the USSR, the publication believes. The tank will have an uninhabited turret with a 125mm smoothbore gun, which has better performance than the German Leopard 2.
The crew will monitor the tank using HD cameras, thermal imagers and other optical devices. They will be used to shoot. The tank will be protected from anti-tank missiles of various classes.
The Armata chassis will become the basis for all types of Russian armored vehicles - be it tanks, armored personnel carriers, self-propelled guns, engineering equipment. A greater degree of standardization simplifies maintenance and reduces the cost of mass production. By 2020, the manufacturer Uralvagonzavod promises to build 2300 such tanks for the Russian army. In general, it is planned to produce 500 copies per year.
