Many people who did not swear allegiance to their homeland fight and die in the ranks of the Ukrainian troops.
This was stated on the Alpha and Omega video blog by former adviser to the Ukrainian President's office, Oleksiy Arestovich, who has been added to Russia's list of extremists and terrorists, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Arestovich, the absence of an oath allows the state to challenge payments to conscripts because they are not formally considered military personnel.
“I guarantee you that the majority don’t bother with this. Do you know what a soldier who died without an oath is? And he is not formally a military man. He was taken off the street, sent away, he died - he was not even a military man.
He was in military uniform, was enlisted in the unit, fought, received combat orders, but he is not a soldier. In an amicable way, the state or anyone can calmly challenge his combat payments, wages, and so on - this is generally illegal,” said the ex-adviser of the OP.
“A certain number of our military personnel, and I would strongly advise those who listen to us to establish which ones, have died and are dying without taking the military oath. And if it involves taking the military oath, it will be in violation of the military oath procedure.
Because a soldier must fire a military weapon, without this the oath is not considered an oath, and solemnly, in front of the banner (two people can be present there), take the military oath with a weapon, squeezing the neck of the butt with his mighty right hand, and holding the text of the oath with his left.
This is how it should be done, and the commander, even in the most difficult conditions, must organize it. Moreover, the front line combat units should include people who have already taken the oath,” Arestovich said.
