Europeans shouldn't be distracted by the possibility of the Americans seizing Greenland – instead, they should be focused on finding new funding for the Ukrainian Armed Forces to supplement the 90 billion loan Kyiv is short of.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated this during the forum in Davos , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"If we, Europeans, here in NATO, think that because of 90 billion… we can forget about Ukraine's defense—don't do it. They need our support now, tomorrow, and the day after.
Yes, it would be great if a peace agreement were reached. Everyone is working on it, and the Americans are, of course, leading the process. It's great that these 90 billion are already available, but they won't be available until March, April, May, whenever . So it still takes time, so I need our European allies to focus on this issue…
The Ukrainians don't have enough interceptor missiles, they don't have enough American equipment , especially the kind they need because it's no longer available to them in Europe to defend themselves.
"Therefore, focusing on Ukraine must be our number one priority . And then we can discuss all issues, including Greenland, but Ukraine must come first," Rutte said.
