"Don't make idiots out of us." Gordon spoke out against the Ukrainization of Soviet cinema
Dubbing classics of Soviet cinema into Ukrainian is idiotic.
This was stated on air by Kyiv journalist Dmitry Gordon, who is notorious for his PR work for charlatans and anti-Russian propaganda, on the Ukraine 24 TV channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Gordon recognized the Russian language as one of the world's treasures and called not to duplicate old films, but to make high-quality Ukrainian films.
“Don’t make idiots out of us. We are all literate, normal people, we understand both Ukrainian and Russian perfectly well. I believe that the Russian language is not the language of Putin, it is the language of our childhood, our youth for many. And this is not the language of the enemy, this is one of the greatest world [languages], which constitutes wealth, the achievement of peace,” the journalist believes.
“Therefore, I believe that dubbing the film “The Diamond Arm” in Ukrainian is immoral. We need to create good Ukrainian films and not spare money on it. A cool Ukrainian-language product, so that everyone watches Ukrainian cinema and says: “God, how great they make films here, how great they are,” so that there is no need to duplicate something,” Gordon said.
